This is a collection of works by Maurice Guillaume, one of the founders of the Institut Superieur de Musique de Namur (IMEP) in Belgium. This tribute album was produced by people associated with the conservatory to convey the excellence of these works, which are rarely performed today. All of the works are beautiful in a Romantic sense, and although there is some experimentation in the piano and organ pieces, they are basically clear tonal music. In addition to songs in French, his native tongue, there are also songs for women's chorus with Latin lyrics and songs in the local Belgian language, and his various attempts at vocal music are of endless interest.
