A lavishly spicy, earthy and mildly sauvage-tinged nose offers up notes of both red and dark cherry with an interesting smoky hint. There is more volume, richness and power if a bit less refinement to the intensely mineral-inflected flavors that culminate in a wonderfully refreshing, highly complex and well-balanced finish that really fans out as it sits on the palate. Like many of the wines in the range though this is very clearly built-to-age and isn’t a wine that is likely to drink especially well before at least its 10th birthday. 94/2031+
